I don’t think I’ll ever forget the day I first learned about Madaraka Festival and One Vibe Africa in early 2014. Owuor Arunga invited me to a studio session at London Bridge to do some writing for a song called “Pamoja,” which would later be premiered at the very first Madaraka Festival celebration held at MoPop. That was also where I met Simon Okelo for the first time. The energy that everyone brought to that room was so inspirational, and the drive and commitment to helping youth in need was like none I’d ever experienced. Since then, I have performed at every Madaraka Festival, and have been in full support of One Vibe Africa’s amazing work, in Kisumu and beyond.
