I first became connected to One Vibe Africa at the age of thirteen, when I traveled to the Manyatta slum in Kenya with my family. While I stayed and worked in the Young Generation Youth Center over the course of a month alongside One Vibe’s founder, Simon Okelo, I found my roots had grown to peoples and places I had never expected. My experiences with One Vibe Africa, within and outside of Africa, have been defining moments in my own life much like the many children and young adults currently part of the music and arts education program.

The artists and musicians (and those in training) that I’ve encountered through One Vibe Africa have been some of the most electrifying, driven, and talented people I have ever met;I believe this to be because of the intricate web of artistry and creation that ties the One Vibe community together.
